Meeting Agenda for Monday, March 18, 2019

Tonight’s meeting is number 8 of 88, for those at home keeping score.

The meeting this evening will hear presentations from Danielle Hubbard and Renee Cronley on World Poetry Day, which is this Thursday, March 21. More information on World Poetry Day can be found here.

A handful of citizen appointments to boards and committees will be made. For the most part, these have been completed, but some bylaw changes necessitated the additions. With the changes to the bylaws for the Police Board, three more residents will be appointed. As well, one interim appointment to the Brandon General Museum & Archives board will be made.

At tonight’s meeting I plan to make an enquiry about some of the concerns residents are feeling along McDonald Ave. With the spring melt fully underway, McDonald Ave. residents have experienced some real issues with drainage, basement seepage, and overland flooding in their yards. I have asked city management to respond to this, providing some timeline for the necessary repairs. Have you experienced an issue? I want to hear about it (ward4@brandon.ca or (204) 724-0334)

Finally, council will approve the standard operating procedures surrounding the development charges in the city. Those charges will come into effect this summer.

Overall a fairly manageable agenda for this evening. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to reach out via email ward4@brandon.ca or call me (204) 724-0334.

Our meeting will go live on WCGtv and the City of Brandon YouTube channel. Check it out here.

Cheers,
Shaun
